Avoid over-processed and refined foods
such as white sugar and white flour products
as much as possible. Also, try to stay
clear of canned food products with preservatives.
In order to help you reduce your sodium
intake, I've listed high sodium foods
below:
Smoked or cured fish or meat, including
pork, sausage, bacon, pastrami, corned
beef, and salami
Tuna packed in oil
Caviar, sardines, anchovies
Hot dogs
Boullion cubes
Peanut butter
Fried foods
Salted nuts
Popcorn
Ice cream with artifical flavoring or
color
Carbonated drinks (diet or regular, and
including carbonated water and/or mineral
water)
Pastries
TV/Frozen Dinners
Pastries
Chili
Mayonaise, ketchup, pickles, olives
Potatoes and pasta (moderation!)
Salted crackers
Potato chips
Pizza
Gravy
Saurkraut
Chocolate
Cream
Alcohol (including wine and beer)
Coffee (no more than 2 cups per day)
Cheese
